I'm really oddly excited for this health and fitness show at the Telus convention center this weekend!!
Last year I signed up to run the Calgary Marathon, but realized it wasn't going to happen when this old man started chatted me up and asked me about my "training". I said: "Uh....what training? I run everyday? Isn't that good enough?" haha the expression on his face after I said that was priceless, and apparently to run 42k you do need to "train". According to this marathon man, once or twice a week I needed to be running 21k also called a "long run" also fuck running 21k, it's hard and EXHAUSTING and makes my legs want to fall off! I just want to run a marathon so I can say I did it...I don't want to run half marathons once - twice weekly as "training" aka TORTURE!! That being said, I'm going to register for the Vancouver Marathon in May. Why not right? I'm a good runner, and worse case scenario my legs go numb and I cry like a little girl, and seeing as I am a little girl, that's just to be expected!
Oooh I went to the Talisman center last night and I forgot how much fun that place is!! I was a little heartbroken when we couldn't play badminton because all the courts were filled with basketball players, but there's always next time!!! Also.....
